A Limited Edition Tangent Scale Models GSC 86' Double Plug Door Box Car painted for freelance model railroad Crescent Lines! Road Number Variant: CL 29001 named "LOUIS H. SCHULTZ".
With this Crescent Lines release we proudly introduce our first "FOUNDERS FLEET" car! The Crescent Lines is the freelance model railroad belonging to the Crescent City Model Railroad Club in the New Orleans, Louisiana area. This club has been in existence for over 60 years during which time many members have come and gone, leaving their mark on the organization and ultimately on the Crescent Lines!
To celebrate this rich history we have developed a master roster of over fifty Crescent Lines 86' auto parts box cars in the CL 29001 series, each assigned the name of a key Crescent Lines member past or present.
Four founding members have been selected for this first offering. Their names can be found prominently displayed on the double plug doors at the center of each car. These four members are as follows:
CL 29001 - LOUIS H. SCHULTZ
CL 29012 - ANDY SPERANDEO
CL 29023 - RICHARD BOUTALL
CL 29034 - CLYDE F. "BILL" WILLIAMS
We hope you will enjoy the depth of freelance history that these striking red cars will bring to your railroad!
This car was produced exclusively for Home Shops by Tangent Scale Models as part of their January 2023 release. The 1977-1978 Greenville Steel Car Company car body is the prototype offered in this run, so all cars will have a Built Date within that range. The most notable feature of this production range is five grab irons on each side--previous designs only had four.
As with all Tangent cars you will find them laden with many fine details and extremely crisp paint edges. Be sure to take out the magnifying glass and read the unique trust stenciling! Metal wheels, scale metal Kadee couplers, and rotating journal endcaps are standard on all cars in this release.
